One reason freelance writers get premature gray hair: Confusion at magazines queried, notes Grumpy Editor.
Latest example involves a professional writer who submitted a detailed email query on Sept. 6, 2018 to AARP The Magazine and received a response last week with the message “it was deleted unread.”
Huh?
The proposed article deals with an upcoming law that would affect thousands of AARP members.
When asked about the strange response to the writer from AARP late last week, a “customer care” representative says: ‘Please be advised that this communication was sent in error” and "any communication sent was read and its content addressed.”
